It says I have 1 new message, but I have to release onhold messages or I can't get it. I also sent a message that didn't get sent. I'm not sure what's wrong. Does that mean to delete messages from my inbox?
If someone sent me a message tonight, I didn't get it. I also thought I replied to a post, but it didn't go through. Maybe the problems are related?
Thanks

I think that means your inbox is full. Check your PM settings. That would be under "Rules, folders & settings" when you go in to look at your PMs. Then look at "Folder Options" at the bottom. Or you can just, as you suggested, delete messages from your inbox.

Ellen: Thank you. I checked "Delete oldest messages" and it said I did that successfully. But I still can't get my new message, and I still get the same reason. what now? I logged off, and then on. I thought that might help.

I don't know what that means and can't find anything about it in the documentation. But I sent you a test PM, let me know what happens with it. EDIT: Also, please copy-and-paste the entire error message it gives you.

Stone: I received your message, but not the one from last night. My Edit function doesn't seem to work right now. That happens sometimes and I don't know why. The message is: "You have 1 private message currently on hold because of full folder. Release all on-hold messages...They will be re-sorted into the appropriate folder if enough space is made available."
I did what Ellen suggested, and deleted old messages successfully. But something else is jammed, I guess.

Sounds to me like it was because the folder was full, but for some reason, the held messages aren't automatically released, and you have to do something to release them. Hopefully StoneGlow can help you figure it out.

I looked in the code, it looks like "Release all on-hold messages" is supposed to be a link, and if you click it it's supposed to release them.

Yes! I clicked on the link and it worked! Thanks, Stone. I couldn't see that it was a link until you told me.
