ok. so this is testing me LOL. 2nd time to write this out. anyhoo....

I've been practicing staying present by being mindful recently. Well just when my lap top was 11 months old, the hard drive went. then a few weeks later the mother board went. then the mother board fried again a few weeks later. fixed it again. well 3 weeks ago something else happened to it. I knew it was a 'lemon' but it had to go through a process of being fixed and stuff.

3 weeks ago I took it to the service people at the store to be shipped out and evaluated. then I would be allowed to get another computer! well I called and checked on the status a few times. after a whole week, they decided to tell me that another computer went out instead of mine! ok so I held my breath and figured they would make it right. a week later it was received by the service center! another week passes. I called yesterday and still no evaulation.

today I called back and said the supervisor was not being reliable and calling me back. i stayed calm. so then i asked the guy if he would call the service center and get results. he said no and that I could call. I was more upset but stayed focused on the present moment. i've been working hard on that.

so I call the service center and they decided that I have to go back to the local service center for something. great. sigh...... I was sick of being pushed around so I decided to go to the mall myself. forget the phone calls. I decided I was NOT leaving the store until I had an answer as to WHEN the eval would be done so i could get a new laptop. I got in line and waited. I even told one of the men that I was not leaving without results. i was calm as a cucumber.

miraculously, within the 20 minutes or so since i had hung up the phone and gotten to the store, it was entered in the computer that i was approved for a new laptop! right then and there i got a new one.

it paid for me to be present and mindful: I was not judgmental but I wasn't letting them push me around anymore either. I was standing up for myself and I knew that they made the mistakes and it has been 3 whole weeks.

so I proved to myself that mindfulness Can work. thanks for letting me share. Now I get to kindly file my complaint about the customer service LOL!

Roo

Congratulations! I am trying to do this with my T's office staff. I had bought a wrist brace and paid cash for it. Later on that week I learned they could/should have filed for my insurance to pay for it. This was on June 3rd. I called my insurance company and asked if I could file the claim. They said no, my provider's office had to do it. So I called them and asked them to do it.

I have called them about 5 times checking to see if they sent in the claim. They keep telling me they did but my insurance company never receives it. I believe that my doctor's office is lying to me. But I don't get angry, I always talk nicely to them and give them more information. I have writtend own every time I call them.

I am not going to get angry at them. I will stay present and deal with it each time I call. I also told my T what happened and that I am not getting angry with them. I did say that if they keep slacking off I will take the $17.00 off of my next bill that I owe them.

By staying present and not blowing up, it helps me by getting what I want/need. Thank you for sharing this. It just proves to me that it can be done. That there are healthier ways of dealing with these issues than blowing up at people!
