You might be getting sick of hearing about my wrist but, I just wanted to share this. I have just come back from physio with the best news. My grip strength has increased from 10kg to 18kg in a week!

It hasn't been this good since before I injured it almost 16 months ago. The ROM has also increased dramatically. Whilst I did feel it was important and necessary to follow the left-hand only for 6 weeks recommendation to allow the repairs to settle; after the 6 weeks mark, I think I was still being too careful, and too worried about undoing the repairs and causing more harm. The housework scenario (and pushing things a bit) has shown me that those internal stitches are tougher than I thought they were, and I can stop being so afraid to use it. I can push it.
My Physio was really pleased with the huge progress made this week. Seems to think the op has been a complete success and I may only need 1, maybe 2 more appts with her, and then I'll have a 3 month review with the surgeon in October. She's going to apply to ACC to see whether they will sponsor/fund me to do a Tai-Chi class, to help me with balance and strength, seeing as the injury was as a result of losing balance. It would be a shame to have gone through all of this, only to re-injure it.
